The Pittsburgh Steelers play their final pre-season game in Carolina against the Panthers tonight. Kick-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 5pm.
The Steelers open their regular season Sunday, September 7th at the New York Jets.
The Chicago Bears signed backup quarterback Tyson Bagent (Bay-gent) to a two-year contract extension through the 2027 season. The deal is worth $10 million. Bagent is a former Division II quarterback, who played at Shepherd University, which is part of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. He won the Harlon Hill Award there in 2021. The 25-year old was entering the final season of his rookie contract. Bagent became the first Chicago quarterback to win his debut game and started five games during the 2023 season in place of an injured Justin Fields. He signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent prior to that season.
