Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier announced his retirement from football Wednesday. Shazier never was able to return to the game after a serious spinal injury in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals in 2017.
The NFL season kicks off tonight with the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs will have just over 20% of fan capacity at the game, which will kick-off at 8:20pm.
The Los Angeles Rams have signed cornerback Jalen Ramsey to a five-year $105 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history. The Rams acquired Ramsey from Jacksonville last October.
