Work is currently underway to improve storm water management in the City of Butler.
Crews from Bauer Excavating are currently working on the Monroe Street Storm Sewer Replacement Project.
City Council approved just over $255,000 for the replacement of a 24 inch diameter drainage pipe with one with a 48 inch diameter. This increased size will allow for a greater volume of water and a reduction in the chance of high water or flooding events. This is the fourth phase of the storm sewer improvement project and additional pipes could be replaced in the future depending on available funding.
Work is expected to continue this week with the closure of Monroe Street and traffic delays necessary in the area to allow the work to be completed.
