At least 21 people were taken to the hospital yesterday following a school bus crash in Beaver County.
According to our news partners at WPXI, the bus contained Aliquippa junior high football players on the way to Pine Richland for a game.
20 of the students were later released from the hospital. One student required surgery and has yet to be discharged.
A student on the bus said that the bus was heading quickly down a hill, swerving before the collision. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Aliquippa’s superintendent said that the bus did not roll and came to rest against a hillside.
The district plans to hold a parent meeting tomorrow evening to answer questions.
The football team has cancelled all of this weeks’ practices and games.
