Tourism spending in Butler County continues to rise in the years since the pandemic.
According to a new report by the state’s Department of Community and Economic Development, visitors spent over $600 million in the county in 2022. That is up $93 million compared to the 2021.
The most significant spending was $170 million in transportation; the food and drink industry brought in $138 million.
“We are proud to see the County continue to contribute to our local economy in such an impactful way,” Tourism President Jack Cohen said in a statement. “These numbers represent how vital the tourism industry is.”
The study also showed that Moraine State Park plays a big role with visitors, drawing over 2 million people each year.
