With the Philadelphia Eagles winning the Super Bowl, it was a big winning weekend for sports betters in the state.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board says that nearly $102 million was bet on the Super Bowl this past Sunday. That’s up over 20 percent compared to last year.
With most of the money bet on the Eagles to win, revenue for sports wagering operators was in the negative by almost $7 million.
This was the seventh Super Bowl that residents could legally bet on the big game at 18 retail locations or 11 online wagering sites.
