With the tax deadline one day away, procrastinators may need to start thinking about opting for an extension.
Instead of filing a return tomorrow, taxpayers can go for an automatic extension. That moves the deadline to October 15th to file your taxes.
However, the IRS notes that an extension still doesn’t give taxpayers a pass to pay the IRS.
Anyone that owes taxes, must still get the payment to the IRS by Tax Day or face a penalty.
The extension is a one-page form that requires simple information.
