The Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays ended their MLB Divisional Series last night.
–Milwaukee defeated San Diego 3-1 last night to win their series three games to one. Brewers outfielder Garrett Mitchell tripled and scored the tie-breaking run in the fifth inning, then robbed Manny Machado of a game-tying home run at the wall in the eighth inning to advance into their second straight National League Championship Series.
–The Los Angeles Dodgers eliminated the Atlanta Braves with a 4-1 victory to reach their third straight NLCS. The Dodgers and Brewers rematch will begin in Milwaukee Saturday night.
–Tampa Bay swept the New York Yankees following a 4-3 victory last night. The win was aided by a Yankees fan who was called for interference in the sixth inning and took away what initially was called a two-run home run that would have tied the game. Instead, the hit was ruled a ground-rule double. Tampa Bay moves on to the American League Championship Series and awaits the winner of the Cleveland – Chicago series.
–Cleveland avoided elimination by the Chicago White Sox following a 9-3 victory last night. Jose Ramirez had a double, triple and home run in the game. The White Sox still lead the series 2-1 and will host Game 4 tonight at 8pm. The game will be televised on TBS and truTV. Last night’s loss was the first of the post-season for the White Sox.
