Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that rookie running back Kaleb Johnson will be replaced on special teams after his gaffe Sunday which resulted in a Seattle touchdown. Tomlin said he still believes in the young player’s talent, and he will have the opportunity to work his way back into a role. He also confirmed that the team could be without as many as five defensive starters for their game this weekend, including linebacker Alex Highsmith and defensive lineman Isaiah Loudermilk, who suffered an ankle injuries last weekend.
The Steelers visit New England Sunday. They are 1-1/2-point favorites, but the Patriots have won eight of the past nine games in the series, including the past four games in New England. The Steelers haven’t won in New England since 2008.
