A crash just west of the Butler County line on Route 422 caused significant delays Monday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2 p.m. near Old Route 422—which is about two miles away from the entrance to McConnells Mill.
Crews say that a car crossed the center line and hit a tractor trailer head-on. The collision caused the truck to burst into flames and destroyed nearly the entire cabin of the truck.
Emergency crews also had to extricate the driver of the sedan.
The current conditions of those involved in the accident are not known at this time.
Crews spent hours cleaning up debris from the accident, along with a significant fuel spill on the highway.
Police say the accident is under investigation.
