With the Jeep Invasion colliding with Butler High School’s Commencement, there is expected to be heavy traffic in the Butler area this evening.
Over 1,000 Jeeps are set to line Main Street as part of the annual Jeep Invasion. Main Street will be shutdown for parking in between Wayne and Fulton Streets starting at 3 p.m. The entire road will then close at 3:30 p.m.
Festival Director Patti Jo Lambert says drivers should beware of Jeeps coming from both the north and the south.
“If you’re from Butler and don’t plan on attending the invasion, you might want to avoid Route 8 North and South, and the Picklegate Bridge around 4:40-7 p.m. on Friday,” Lambert said.
Those traveling to the 6:30 p.m. start time for commencement at the Senior High are encouraged to give yourself enough time navigating the traffic and Main Street closures.
