A longtime member of the Butler Transit Authority is being recognized for his years of service.
At their meeting Tuesday night, the Authority Board voted to name the boardroom at their Hollywood Drive Facility for Joseph J. Hasychak. A portrait of Hasychak along with a plaque has been placed in the room.
In his previous role as Butler Township Commissioner, Hasychak teamed up with Butler City officials to create the Transit Authority in 1989 and has served as a board member since that time. Authority officials including Executive Director John Paul expressed gratitude and appreciation for the many accomplishments Hasychak has made.
Hasychak will chair his final meeting as a Transit Authority Board member next month before stepping down after 37 years.
