The executive director of the Butler Transit Authority is looking to spread the word about free rides available to seniors.
John Paul says that any senior 65 and older is eligible to ride public transportation for free.
“If you’re 65 and older, you ride for free. You can get your transit pass at 128 West New Castle Street by bringing some identification,” Paul said. “Once you do that, you can ride all day, every day for free. You can even ride the commuter service to Pittsburgh.”
Paul says that The Bus offers stops to many healthcare locations, including Butler Memorial Hospital. There are also routes that take riders to retail and grocery stores.
The Butler Transit Authority runs Monday through Saturday.
