Pennsylvania State Police have identified the trooper that was injured while responding to a crash in Muddy Creek Township two weeks ago.
On December 29th, 27-year-old Trooper Hailee McCandless of Butler was assisting a driver on the scene of a crash after the driver’s vehicle slid off the I-79 northbound exit at the Route 422 interchange.
As the trooper was helping the driver, a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Justis Stanbro lost control and drover over Trooper McCandless’s foot.
McCandless was taken to a Pittsburgh Hospital for severe injuries and the driver of the vehicle that hit the trooper was cited for driving at a safe speed.
