The driver of a tractor trailer involved in an accident with a school bus that killed two people over a year ago is now facing charges.
Our news partners at WPXI-TV report that 30-year-old Karandeep Singh of Alberta, Canada was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide for the November 2, 2021 fatal crash on I-79 in Muddy Creek Township.
According to charging documents Singh was at a truck stop and got back onto I-79 , but entered the right lane traveling only 18 miles per hour. The bus, meanwhile, was obeying the speed limit driving at 67 miles per hour when it crashed into the back of the truck.
14-year-old Brylee Walker and the bus driver Lindsey Thompkins died in the accident.
Police also say that Singh’s tractor trailer had several violations that would have result in an “out-of-service” order.
Singh is awaiting arraignment.
