There was one new case of COVID-19 for Butler County on Tuesday, although overall testing results were low across the state.
The state Department of Health reported only 54 negative tests for the county today, giving the report a 1.8 percent positivity rate.
Statewide there were 496 new cases, 11 new deaths, and just over 6,000 negative tests.
The recent surge in county cases can also be linked with a growing case count at Slippery Rock University. In the past seven days at SRU, they have 31 confirmed cases, and have had 42 since August 20th.
