Turnpike fees will be going up once again.
Officials with the Pennsylvania Turnpike approved yet another increase in tolls for the roadway.
The commission approved a 5% increase on Tuesday, although the changes will not take place until January of 2024.
According to PA Turnpike officials, the most common toll for E-ZPass drivers will increase by 10 cents to land at $1.90. For Toll-by-Plate customers, this means a 30 cent increase moving that price up to $4.70.
Due to mandated borrowing by Act 44 of 2007 in order to pay PennDOT, turnpike administrators plan on annual toll increases for at least the next 30 years.
