A new report shows that millions of people are driving the Pennsylvania Turnpike for free.
According to the AP, the turnpike missed out on an estimated $104 million in tolls this past fiscal year. It’s estimated that 11 million of the 170 million turnpike rides did not pay a toll.
Officials blamed a few issues including faulty equipment, failure of camera systems, and out-of-state license plates.
PennDOT officials say their collection rates though are similar to other states.
