Two people are now facing charges in connection to trying to steal bank account information by fraudulently buying video game consoles.
State police received a call Sunday from the Butler Walmart about a man and woman who stopped to pick up an online order for two Play Station 5 consoles—which were worth over $1,000.
Police say the Walmart employee became suspicious and asked for the man’s identity, because the same vehicle attempted similar purchases at least five times the previous day. The employee contacted the victim, who confirmed he did not purchase the Play Stations.
The suspects then left Walmart. Police were able to track the red minivan to Moon Township, where police conducted a traffic stop and found a Play Station inside the car.
The suspects were identified as 29-year-old Yaderlin De Los Santos Orozco and 31-year-old Honny Rosario, both of Hazelton.
It’s unclear if the two are connected to similar thefts in Grove City, but the suspects were allegedly driving a red minivan.
