A Butler man and woman have been charged after they allegedly committed insurance fraud.
According to charging documents from the State Attorney General, 52-year-old Wayne Fazzino and 53-year-old Angela Nini filed a false insurance claim.
In January of this year, Fazzino filed an insurance claim saying he hit a deer with no police report, witnesses, or video from the crash.
Following an investigation, police say the damage to Fazzino’s car happened before the filed insurance claim.
Nini allegedly told police damage to the car existed when the vehicle was purchased, but after speaking with the seller of the vehicle, pictures before the sale suggested otherwise.
Both have been charged with several accounts of insurance fraud and Fazzino was released from the Butler County Prison after putting up his $50,000 bail.
They are both awaiting preliminary hearings.
