The San Diego Padres have traded former Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star second baseman Adam Frazier to the Seattle Mariners for two minor league players. The 29-year old Frazier was shipped to the Padres last July for three prospects. He batted .305 last season and led majors in line drive percentage.
Another former Pirate, outfielder Starling Marte, has signed a four-year $78 million contract with the New York Mets. Marte began last season with Miami and was traded to Oakland in July after rejecting a $30 million extension from the Marlins. Between the two teams last season, Marte led the major league’s with 47 stolen bases.
