High School Sports:
Boys Golf:
–Two Butler County golfers qualified for the PIAA tournament Tuesday during the WPIAL Class 3A Individual Championship played at Nemacolin Country Club. Blake Bertolo of Mars finished in a fourth-place tie after shooting a round of 75. Butler’s Wyatt Kos grabbed the final qualifying spot with a 78.
Cross Country:
–The Knoch Boys and Girls Cross Country teams swept Burrell and Greensburg Central Catholic on Senior Night. The Knoch Girls captured their third Section-4 Class 2A championship in a row. The Knights have compiled a 32-0 record over that span dating back to October of 2018. The Knoch Girls have gone 42-1 in cross country races over the four seasons for the current seniors. Yamika Kuo was runner-up Tuesday with a career-best time of 21:07. Emma Haugh was third in a time of 21:39. The Knoch Boys improved to 6-3 this season and were led by Eli Ruediger with a first-place finish. His time was 18:12.
Boys Soccer:
–Seneca Valley and Fox Chapel tied 2-2 in overtime. The Raiders remained unbeaten, with their overall record improving to 11-0-1. They have an 8-0-1 section record.
–North Allegheny defeated Butler 4-0. The Golden Tornado dropped to 9-4 overall and 6-4 in section play. North Allegheny is now 6-3 in section play.
–Mars-7 Highlands-1.
–Kiski Area-4 Knoch-1.
–Freeport-2 Armstrong-0.
–North Catholic-2 Hopewell-0.
Girls Volleyball:
–Butler-3 Hempfield-0.
–North Hills-3 Seneca Valley-0.

–Mars-3 Burrell-2.
Girls Tennis:
–Seneca Valley-3 Butler-2.
