Two people from Ohio are facing charges after they allegedly were in possession of illegal drugs.
On Saturday, police stopped a vehicle around 1 a.m. on Route 422 near the South Shore exit after finding a vehicle that had a registration plate that was not active.
When the officer approached the vehicle, he allegedly smelled marijuana and saw open alcohol containers.
The driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Devante Scott of Youngstown, Ohio, was arrested after failing a sobriety field test. The passenger of the vehicle 47-year-old Heidi Lyons of Poland, Ohio, agreed to a search of the vehicle.
Police found 40 grams of methamphetamines, 20 Xanax pills, 5.5 grams of a bag of unknown off-white powder, and a pill bottle with suspected methamphetamine.
Both Scott and Lyons were charged with manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, and Scott is facing additional driving charges.
Both have been placed in the Butler County Prison as they await preliminary hearings.
