The United Football League made its debut over the weekend. Former Slippery Rock University running back Wes Hills helped lead the Michigan Panthers to an 18-16 victory over the St. Louis BattleHawks. Hills rushed for 85 yards on 11 carries for Michigan. He led the USFL in rushing in that league’s final season in 2023.
Former Steelers running back Anthony McFarland had a touchdown in his debut with San Antonio.
