There appears to be a growing backlog of people who are waiting to receive unemployment benefits.
The Associated Press reports that the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry has a reported 315,000 people still trying to find out if they will be eligible for unemployment.
The state meanwhile has pushed back and said fraudulent claims are a part of the reason why the backlog numbers surged.
Our newsroom has heard from one local resident who said he’s been waiting more than six weeks for his unemployment.
The Department of Labor and Industry says they are reviewing the matter.
