Officials say the Butler VA Health Care System they have received over 1,600 doses of the Moderna COVID vaccine so far.
At a press conference yesterday, leaders at the Butler VA said they’ve inoculated veterans who are eligible under the CDC’s current guidance. They’ve also administered shots to about 300 current employees.
Currently, the vaccine is being provided to enrolled veterans above the age of 75 or high risk medical conditions. As more vaccine becomes available, the VA hopes to offer the vaccine to all enrolled veterans who want to receive it. However, if you are enrolled and above 75 you can learn more information about the vaccine, and if you are eligible, you can get an appointment scheduled by calling 878-271-6753.
Local VA officials also say they have not had any discussions with the VA Central office about the Butler location serving as a mass vaccination clinic when the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available to the general public.
