Shane Van Gisbergen repeated as the winner at the Sonoma road course in just his second race at the California track. Van Gisbergen held off Chase Briscoe for his eighth win on a Cup Series road course. He is now tied with Tony Stewart for second all-time in victories on Nascar road courses, one behind Jeff Gordon’s record of nine wins.
The drivers head to Chicagoland Speedway for a Sunday night race this weekend. The Cup Series had been running the “Streets of Chicago” race for the past two years, but are returning to the oval speedway outside of Chicago this year. Hear the race Sunday on WBUT beginning at 5pm.
