The Colorado Rockies have promoted Greensburg Central Catholic graduate Warren Schaeffer to their full-time manager. A native of Vandergrift, Schaeffer assumed the role on an interim basis after the Rockies fired Bud Black in May following a 7-33 start. The Rockies finished the season 43-119.
Schaeffer was drafted into the Colorado organization in 2007 and played six seasons of minor league baseball. He remained with the Rockies as a coach when his playing career ended.
