Although it was a presidential primary, the voter turnout was not overwhelming.
According to unofficial results from Butler County, voter turnout was at just over 26 percent, which works out to about 36,000.
There were just over 112,000 eligible voters in Butler County for the primary election. Independent voters are not able to participate in Pennsylvania’s primary.
A majority of voters cast a ballot in-person, but there were more than 10,000 people who voted by mail.
