Washington Capitals star player Alex Ovechkin has been added to the NHL’s COVID-19 list and the team is being fined $100,000 by the league for violating virus protocols, including gathering in a hotel room. In addition to the three-time NHL MVP, the Caps will be without three other players who were added to that virus list. Washington just spent the last week in Pittsburgh to face the Penguins. The Caps are scheduled to be home for their next four games – beginning tomorrow night against Buffalo.
The Carolina Hurricanes have had five players placed on the COVID-19 list – and their games were postponed until at least Saturday.
