There were 201 new cases of COVID-19 and six additional deaths reported by the state for Butler County on Wednesday.
That now brings the county’s death toll due to the coronavirus to 156.
There were also 175 negative test results, giving the daily update from the Department of Health a 53.4 percent positivity rate.
As of Wednesday morning, Butler Memorial Hospital was treating 54 patients for the coronavirus, with five COVID patients in the ICU. This is an increase of four patients hospitalized and a decrease of six patients in the ICU. BHS also reported seven deaths to the state on Tuesday.
Butler Health System also has a limited quantity of the Pfizer vaccine remaining after for accounting for all healthcare workers so vaccine is being offered to local first line responders including EMS, police, and firefighters.
There were just under 10,000 new cases statewide and an additional 230 deaths.
