Pennsylvania is reporting a significant spike in the number of deaths attributed to COVID-19.
According to today’s daily update, there are now 2,195 people who have died because of the coronavirus—that’s 479 more than yesterday. Officials say those deaths have happened over the last two weeks.
There were about 1,100 new cases reported across the state—bringing the total number of cases over 44,000.
There have been over 170,000 negative cases recorded in the Commonwealth.
Meanwhile here in Butler County, only one new positive case was confirmed. Butler now has 175 COVID-19 cases. The state reports over 2,000 negative tests in Butler.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Butler Memorial Hospital is treating 10 patients for COVID-19, with no one in the ICU.
