There’s been a small increase in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Butler County.
According to the state’s daily update—the county now has 113 confirmed cases.
The state of Pennsylvania reported about 1,800 new cases—bringing the total to 16,239. The new data also shows that 310 have died due to the coronavirus in PA. Over 82,000 tests have been negative.
Meanwhile, as of 10 a.m. Wednesday morning there were 11 patients being treated for COVID-19 symptoms at Butler Memorial Hospital—three of those patients are in ICU. That is the same as Tuesday.
Butler Health System also says they’ve performed nearly 1,700 tests at Butler Memorial Hospital and over 300 tests at Clarion Hospital. A total of 111 have come back positive so far but some results may take a week or longer as a result of demand exceeding capacity at commercial labs. Any patient referred for testing must be symptomatic and have a referral from a physician.
Beginning Thursday, all BHS employees will be required to wear a mask when caring for patients or in public areas of BHS facilities.
