Thursday Night Football: The New York Jets defeated the Buffalo Bills 34-21 last night. Jets quarterback Josh McCown rushed for a touchdown and threw for another.
Houston Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a torn ACL in a knee during practice Thursday and will miss the rest of the season. He was tied for the NFL lead with 19 touchdown passes this season.
Indianapolis has placed quarterback Andrew Luck on injured reserve. Luck has not played this season for the Colts after shoulder surgery.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are on their “bye” week this week. They visit the Colts next week.
The WPIAL High School football playoffs begin tonight.
In 6A:
–top-seeded Pine-Richland (10-0) will host Norwin (5-5).
–North Allegheny (7-3) will visit Mt. Lebanon (6-4).
In 4A:
–Mars (6-4) will visit Belle Vernon (9-0).
In 3A:
–Freeport (7-2) will travel to Seton LaSalle (8-1).
In 2A:
–Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (8-2) will host Brentwood (5-4).

In District-10:
–Slippery Rock will meet Sharon Saturday at Wilmington high school in the 3A semi-finals. Kick-off is 7pm. Slippery Rock defeated Harbor Creek last Saturday in the “Round of Eight” 38-14.
–Grove City will face Fort LeBoeuf in the Class 5A semifinals Saturday at Slippery Rock University’s Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Kick-off is 7pm.
District-9 Playoffs include Karns City – but the Gremlins do not play until next week. They will face Punxsutawney Thursday, November 9th at Clarion University in the Class 3A championship. Kick-off is 7pm.
College Football Saturday:
–Penn State will visit Michigan State for a noon kick-off. Hear the game on WBUT 1050am beginning with the pre-game at 10:30am.
