A poor shooting performance and turnovers helped the West Virginia men’s basketball team pounded Pitt 71-49 in the “Backyard Brawl” game in Morgantown last night.
The Mountaineers went on a 30-4 run mid-game to break it open. A technical foul scenario put the dagger in a brief Panthers comeback. Pitt shot just 37% from the field, and had 11 turnovers.
Pitt fell to 3-1. The Panthers host Bucknell Monday. West Virginia is 4-0.
