There were a handful of accidents in Butler County yesterday due to the wintry weather, but there were significant travel issues north of the county line.
A massive tractor trailer pile up caused hours-long delays on I-80. It led to the eastbound lanes being shut down for hours.
There was also a fatal crash on I-79 in Jackson Township, Mercer County. This multi-vehicle accident happened around 11:45 a.m. in whiteout conditions. Police say 22-year-old Austin Golab of Erie died as part of a chain-reaction crash involving multiple tractor trailers.
The accident led to I-79 being closed for hours.
