The state is updating their vaccine rollout plan to make sure everyone in Phase 1A is scheduled for a vaccine appointment by the end of the month.
Governor Tom Wolf said yesterday that he expects the vaccine rollout to continue to expand quickly.
“The numbers I looked at suggests we can do that,” Wolf said. “Friday’s numbers showed we did 150,000 vaccinations in one day. So we know that the logistical system has the capacity to do what we need it to do to get to that number.”
Wolf said specifically, the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine supply will grow significantly in the coming weeks.
“Moderna and Pfizer have increased and continue to grow in terms of what we’ve got got, and I’m expecting that to continue to grow through late March into early April,” Wolf said. “In fact, the federal government has said that the national distribution will be in the 20 to 24 million per week range.”
Wolf also noted there are no plans to move into Phases 1B and 1C yet—but once that happens, he expects it to move much faster through those phases.
