A woman accused of over 100 retail thefts across the county has been charged in Butler County.
On March 31, police were called to the Cranberry Township Walmart for a report of a woman using counterfeit bills to pay for items.
The cashier had become suspicious after the alleged theft, 19-year-old Briann Akerele of Illinois, wanted to pay cash for two separate transaction.
After attempting to get a manger Akerele took the items from the first purchase and ran from the scene. Police discovered it’s alleged Akerele has committed over 130 similar crimes.
She’s facing several charges including forgery and criminal attempt and is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
