A woman already facing drug-related charges is now facing additional charges after the overdose death of a man at the Butler VA.
Police say 60-year-old Nora Barker of Eau Claire delivered the drugs that resulted in the death of Jeremy Venturini at the care facility at the VA back in March.
When VA police discovered Venturini’s body, they found stamp bags of heroin nearby along with his cell phone. Police then got a search warrant to look through Venturini’s phone and found that he and Barker had been texting to arrange a drug sale.
An autopsy performed in April found that Venturini’s death was as a result of fentanyl in his system.
Barker was originally arrested as part of a drug bust in mid-March at a parking lot inside the Butler Commons.
