One woman died and two people were seriously injured in a crash yesterday afternoon in Concord Township.
The accident happened around 4 p.m. on Route 38 near the intersection with Rider Road.
State police say 34-year-old Diane Schomburger of Allison Park was driving south when she veered into the opposite lane. An oncoming car driven by 67-year-old Ronald Hovis of St. Petersburg, PA tried to avoid her, but they collided head-on.
A passenger in Hovis’ car, 48-year-old Dora Hovis also of St. Petersburg, died at the scene. Ronald Hovis and Schomburger were both flown to Pittsburgh hospitals.
A portion of Route 38 was shut down for a time until crews could clear the scene.
