Law enforcement has provided more information about a major roadway closed Tuesday after a fatal two-vehicle accident in Brady Township.
According to State Police, just after 11:30 a.m. a sedan driven by 98-year-old Helen Schubert of West Sunbury on Duffy Road failed to stop at the intersection with Route 8 North.
She was struck by a vehicle driven by 55-year-old George Smokovich of Ambridge. Although Schubert was wearing a seatbelt, she sustained fatal injuries. Smokovich also was wearing a seatbelt and reported minor injuries after hitting a utility pole.
Crews on scene requested Brady Township be informed the lights at the intersection of Staff Road and Route 8 were out.
