Police say an Armstrong County woman was scammed out of hundreds of dollars thinking she was buying a dog.
The incident happened on last weekend to a Kittanning woman. She was on Facebook and was chatting with a woman known as “Layla Wright” who said she was a dog breeder.
The victim sent the scammer $900 in Apple gift cards as a payment for the dog.
After sending the money, police say the scammer would ask for more money in order for the victim to get the dog.
