Pennsylvania officials are bringing back work search requirements for those collecting jobless benefits.
The requirement was stripped from the unemployment program at the onset of the pandemic.
But now, officials say that new unemployment numbers have decreased and the need for workers across the state has risen.
The work search requirement will go into effect starting in July.
Acting Secretary of Labor and Industry Jennifer Berrier told lawmakers that her department is working to make sure that reintroducing this measure doesn’t lead to choas and confusion in the unemployment process.
