The WPIAL released the boys and girls basketball playoff brackets Monday:
Boys match-ups:
–In Class 4A, there was a very interesting decision to make Quaker Valley was given the #1 seed. North Catholic is #2 seed after sharing the Section 1 title. Those top seedings give both teams a First-Round “bye”. The Trojans will host the winner of this Friday’s game between Avonworth and Elizabeth Forward on Wednesday, February 18th.
–Knoch is the #3 seed and will host East Allegheny this Friday at 7pm. Hear that game on WISR beginning at 6:45pm.
The Knights and Trojans were placed on the same side of the bracket – and could see a semi-final match-up.
–Class 6A: Seneca Valley will face Hempfield, Thursday, February 19th.
–Class 5A: Mars will travel to Greater Latrobe this Thursday in a “play-in” game.
Girls match-ups:
–Class 6A: Seneca Valley will travel to Pine-Richland Friday, February 20th. The Raiders and Rams split the Section 1 championship.
–Class 5A: Mars will travel to Indiana this Friday.
–Class 4A: North Catholic will host Laurel Highlands. Freeport will visit South Park. Both games are next Monday.
