Volunteers will be honoring veterans during an annual event tomorrow in Butler.
Over 1,000 wreaths will be laid at the headstones of veterans in the North Main Cemetery.
It’s a part of Wreaths Across America, a national initiative to honor veterans. Organizer Chuck Veazy says the reception for the event is always overwhelming.
“We’ve been fortunate since we’ve started this event to lay a wreath at the headstone of every veteran in the North Cemetery,” Veazy said. “That’s a testament to the community and their dedication to veterans.”
The ceremony will begin at noon in the cemetery, but everyone is asked to arrive starting around 11:30 a.m.
