A Youngstown man in custody in West Virginia is now facing charges in Butler County for forgery and theft.
State Police have charged 50-year-old Brian Craciun after he withdrew $1,600 from a Prospect man’s account at First National Bank in Ohio on October 26th.
The account holder notified his bank about the unauthorized transaction. Police were then able to connect the crime to Craciun through surveillance video.
Craciun is currently in a West Virginia prison for attempting to commit a similar crime on an unrelated victim there. He is facing charges in two states and three counties with a preliminary hearing scheduled in Butler County early next year.
