Zelienople Borough officials have passed an open container ordinance, but with one major revision.
Our news partners at WPXI report that alcohol is now banned in some public spaces, but not on streets and sidewalks. The change was made after small business owners started a petition against the proposal, saying that the Open Air Market every Thursday in the summer would be adversely impacted.
So with the vote, alcohol is banned in places like parks and parking lots unless you get a permit.
