One man is dead following a house fire yesterday afternoon in Jefferson Township.
Crews arrived to an active fire around 3 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Rockdale Road. Upon arrival, they determined that 53-year-old Samuel Lawson was dead inside the home.
Although, the cause of death was not revealed by police.
At this moment, police say the fire does not appear to be suspicious, but they are investigating the cause.
Officials estimated the damage to the home was around $150,000.
According to a Go Fund Me account, Lawson was a husband and father of three.
