Cranberry Township residents will be paying a smaller stormwater fee than anticipated next year due to the economic impact of COVID-19.
The General Authority of Cranberry Township began imposing a stormwater utility fee of $3 per residential unit earlier this year to help offset the cost of state and federal mandates.
The plan was to increase that fee to $6 per residential unit in 2021 but the General Authority decided to reduce that rate to $4 per residential unit for 2021. The full $6 fee will go into effect at the beginning of 2022.
This tax will be collected through monthly water/sewage/trash bills and be used to maintain and enhance Cranberry’s stormwater infrastructure as required by state and federal law.
