Butler County facilities are now among those across state to have received rapid antigen COVID-19 tests from the federal government.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the test kits were provided to the remaining 20 counties that had not yet received them after around 1.5 million had been distributed over the past eight weeks.
These test cards look for pieces of proteins that make up the COVID-19 virus and are less sensitive than PCR tests for detecting infection.
These tests are provided by the federal government to be distributed by state authorities. All antigen test results both positive and negative are required to be reported to the PA Department of Health.
